We purchased “2011” based on several factors including his impeccable genetic profile and phenotypic characteristics of structural correctness, smoothness of shoulder, moderation of frame, body depth, top shape, levelness of lines and pigmentation.  We have been impressed with the “88X” progeny-which included Champions in Reno, Denver and Fort Worth this year.  Moreover, the “Harland Too” progeny appear to be very productive, low maintenance cattle with a strong maternal component in regard to milk and udder quality.  Our plan is to utilize “2011” on both heifers and mature cows.  We feel he will be tremendously versatile in terms of his mating ability due to the factors already described.  “2011” ranks in the top 1% for TM; top 5% for WW, YW, Milk, SC and REA; top 15% for MCE; top 20% for CE and FAT; and top 30% for BW and MARB.

0248 was purchased from Sirett Family Stock Farm and raised by Colyer Herefords.  0248 offers a truly unique phenotype relative to many Canadian cattle.  0248 is exceptionally stout from all angles with a huge top, upper hip and stifle.  0248 is moderate framed with substantial chest width and body dimension.  What is truly impressive considering the power he possesses is 0248’s ability to remain flexible and agile on the move.  His performance, maternal calving ease and ribeye predictors will be assets to our herd.

We are utilizing MR CUSTOM MADE to continue adding polled genetics to the herd.  Both parents, along with a full sib, were Denver Champions and 340’s appearance would support this with his balance, mid-rib dimension, muscle shape and hip/hind leg design.  His genetic profile reads as very versatile, being on the right side of breed average for a number of traits.  He is also a paternal half-brother to our existing herd sire-WCC/CC 1009 GREAT DIVIDE 102.  We will sample him on both heifers and cows.

VENDETTA will be utilized as an A.I. sire on a group of heifers and mature cows for the spring of 2012. VENDETTA was the Horned Senior Champion at the 2011 National Western Stock Show and caught our attention there with regard to mass, structural integrity and balance.  We are excited to use the excellent multi-trait genetic profile that VENDETTA offers, but more crucial is the power, center body dimension and high-quality look we feel he can transfer to a group of progeny.

MCCLINTOCK is another breeding tool we are proud to offer. His moderate frame, tremendous body depth, muscle shape and structure pinpoint the type of Hereford cattle we are striving to create. His sire, BOUNTY 517U, was Supreme Champion over all breeds at Agribition 2010. Again, we consider his dam among our top 5 cows due to her conservative frame, natural thickness, center body dimension and udder quality. MCCLINTOCK is very docile with exceptional testicular development and suspension. This coupled with his correct, well-shaped hoof cover the fundamentals. We also used MCCLINTOCK on a select group of females this spring to sample his genetics. A hair sample for generating genomically enhanced EPD has also been submitted on him.

SKYFALL presents a great opportunity for purchasing an exciting breeding asset. SKYFALL is a quality combination of the 2013 Agribition Champion and 2014 National Western Senior Champion WCC/CC 1009 GREAT DIVIDE 102 along with a KSU BOUNTY HUNTER 611daughter that we consider among our top 5 cows for her structural integrity, maternal character and body dimension. SKYFALL has tremendous shape from the backside of his shoulder, along his loin and continuing back to a stout hip and stifle-all reinforced with an exceptional ribeye EPD. He is heavy structured, big-bodied and has substantial performance. In 2013, he was named Agribition Reserve Horned Calf Champion. We utilized SKYFALL on a modest sized group of cows this spring to prove our excitement in utilizing his genetics. Moreover, a hair sample has been submitted to generate genomically enhanced EPD on this young bull.

We purchased “6Z” for use on heifers due to his calving ease and birth weight genetic indicators.  Moreover, his muscle shape, ribcage dimension, structural integrity and balance were deciding factors.  As an added bonus, he is extremely conservative marked having goggle eyes, a red neck and red testicles.  “6Z” will increase the polled influence within our herd and is an impressive young sire as a heifer’s first calf.  He will be mated to a group of both heifers and mature polled females initially.  “6Z” ranks in the top 15% for CE and SC; top 25% for BW, WW, TM and MCE; top 30% for YW and REA; and top 35% for M and MARB.
